Bagdad theater

3702 SE Hawthorne Blvd, Portland, OR 97214

Cast your imagination back to the Bagdad’s original opening day, in 1927…. Outside the new “Oasis for Entertainment,” hundreds crowded onto Hawthorne Boulevard, which was roped off for the big event. A street dance jumped to a live band as searchlights sliced through the night sky.

For several generations, “Meet me at the Bagdad!” was the slogan for area residents looking for a convenient escape or to catch a glimpse of stardom. Since acquiring the Bagdad in 1991, the McMenamins aim has been to continue that long tradition as a community gathering spot.

Clinton St. Theater

2522 SE Clinton St, Portland, OR 97202

A landmark of Portland cinema history, The Clinton Street Theater is one of the oldest operating movie houses in the United States. The Clinton Street Theater has always been about community. We imagine ourselves to be the “Clubhouse of the Portland Anarchist Jurisdiction”—a place to come and be with friends and family; a place where strangers are only friends you haven’t met yet.

Famous for its long-standing exhibition of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, the theater is currently a magnet for independent/revival films, live music, theater productions, dance performances, sex positive theater & film, drag shows, comedy, burlesque, and more.

Funhouse lounge

2432 SE 11th Ave, Portland, OR 97214

This is theater without the safety net!

The Funhouse Lounge is an arts-centric lounge in the Central Eastside of Portland located at the corner of SE 11th and Division. A modern cabaret of sorts, a place to enjoy a drink and some good eats while being entertained. Voted one of “Portland’s Weirdest Bars” by The Oregonian. We have a truly unique blend of entertainment including dance nights, stand up comedy, burlesque, improv, karaoke, storytelling, bingo, plays, and so much more. With one foot planted firmly in the tradition of theatre and the other leaping forward into the future, we are pushing the limits of what theatre “is” or “should be.” Each and every show is unique and above all else FUN! Join us for some laughs.
